Let’s begin, shall we?

1. Disable Raise To Wake

One of the most interesting features brought by iOS 10 goes by the name of Raise To Wake and, in some way or another, it’s borrowed from the Apple Watch. Basically, it allows your phone to feel when you’re raising and wakes it up, so you can check notifications and other things. And it’s affecting your battery a lot, since the display turns on way more often than it should, so why not turn it off?

Simply go to Settings > Display & Brightness and toggle off Raise to Wake. You and your phone will be grateful.

2. Disable those connectivity features you don’t need

This one is basically a no-brainer, as every iPhone 7 users know that the more things you have turned on, the quicker your battery will drain. Therefore, one of the easiest iPhone 7 battery saving tips is to turn off what you don’t need.

Not using Bluetooth? Off with it. Airdrop is something you don’t need? Off with this one as well. Take a look at your phone’s settings and see if there are any other features you don’t need and turn them off.

3. Enable Low Power Mode

If you want to extend your iPhone 7’s battery life as much as possible, make sure you have the Low Power Mode enabled. It will disable background app refresh, reduces brightness, stops email fetching, automatic app updates, as well as some visual effects. Also, the processor will use less power than usual, so the battery life will be extended significantly.

If you’re fancying this idea, head over to Settings > Battery and toggle the feature over there.

4. Disable Background app refresh

On the other side, if you’re not ok with using the Low Power Mode, since you want the processor to work at full capacity, another one of the most popular iPhone 7 battery saving tips consists in disabling background app refresh, at least for the apps you don’t use that much.

In order to do this, go to Settings > General > Background refresh and turn off this feature for the apps you don’t consider important.

5. Reduce the Auto-Lock time

Once you stop using your iPhone 7 and leave it on the table, but without unlocking it, the display will still be on, for a specific amount of time, called Auto-Lock. If you ask us, there’s no need to leave the phone awake, since you’re not using it at all.

Your phone gives you the possibility to change these values, the lowest being 30 seconds, meaning that after this amount of time is over, the display will turn off. In order to set it like this, go to Settings > General and pick Auto-Lock. Here, choose the ’30 Seconds’ option.
